Blind Man’s Daughter preaches compassion with fiery new single

The project of multi-octave vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Ashley Wolfe, Blind Man’s Daughter has featured a few times on our blog. Now, she’s back with a new track and upcoming album.

By Graeme Smith

Dealing with themes of justice, identity, and compassion, as well as issues of hate and misunderstanding, Only Human opens with an instant vibrance before settling into a emotional groove. A bittersweetness meets a sense of defiance in the verse, with powerful, rousing lyrics that lead nicely into the passionate chorus. There, the vocals really let it all out before we return to a smouldering arrangement for the next verse. It’s well-constructed pop with plenty of feels and a fiery finish.

Ultimately, the track offers a message of resilience, empathy, and unity. “Hate stops with kindness,” Wolfe says. “This isn’t just music—it’s a lifeline to anyone who’s ever felt unseen, unworthy, or unwelcome.”

Only Human is out now and you can give it a listen below.
