Later Youth drops debut album ahead of Leeds date

Jo Dudderidge’s Later Youth returns to our blog with the latest track from his newly released debut album.

By Graeme Smith

Make It Right is a track that’s full of soulful vocals floating over a groovy pop rock instrumental. They deliver earnest lyrics that are rich with storytelling and poetry while dreamy harmonies add some lovely textures. All the while the rhythm section rumbles along and classic rock and roll guitar lingers. It all builds a cathartic climax.

The track heralds the release of Later Youth’s debut album Living History which has been released today.

“Writing and performing songs can be a bit like historical re-enactment – the further you move away from the person you used to be, the harder it becomes to separate fact from fiction,” Dudderidge says of the making the album. “After years of moving around I suddenly found myself standing still. In that moment I was able to look back clearly enough to see this particular period of my life for what it was.”

If you fancy catching Dudderidge live, he’ll be performing an in-store at Crash in Leeds on 16 July 2025.

Make It Right is out now and you can give it a listen below.
