In May 2025, San Demas hit our radar through their single All In On Me. Now, it’s time to hear more from them through the EP on which it features.
By Graeme Smith
The Valley includes four slices of the San Demas pie with You & I, Borrowed Time and Wait and Wonder sitting alongside the aforementioned single. Together, they tackle themes of overcoming hardships and striving for success through triumphant and nuanced pop rock.
You & I opens things with an emotional early highlight. The vocals are spellbinding right from the off, kicking things up a notch during a powerful chorus. In a touching detail, the band’s Rich McKee took inspiration from his father’s guitar riffs to compose the song.
Team-up with Shoot to Kill, All In On Me, provides the EP’s heaviest moment, with jagged riffs and elements of screamo. Borrowed Time and Wait and Wonder wrap up the record with imploring, funky moodiness and searching brightness respectively.
We’re not the only ones who have taken notice of the London-based band’s work. They’ve drawn comparisons to the likes of Coldplay and Thirty Seconds to Mars, and took to the stage at 2000trees this month. They’re a band on the up, and this EP is the perfect showcase of what they’re about.
The Valley is out now and you can give it a listen below.
