Discovery: Loose Buttons embrace reality with new single

Just A Boy In A Band is a bright rock track with a hidden depth, and it’s got Loose Buttons on our radar.

By Graeme Smith

The song is Strokes-style indie rock with a memorable array of poetic lines delivered by charismatic, melancholic vocals. Lyrically, it dwells on the endless pursuit of something just beyond reach, embracing the reality of being “just a boy in a band.”

“This song is about coming to grips with the fact that I’m frankly just a boy in a band, holding onto that childish belief that maybe, just maybe, we can trick you into thinking we’re something more,” says the Loose Button’s Eric Nizgretsky. “There’s so much going on in the world and then there’s us, fumbling around, trying to make something stick.

“And yet here we are, pouring everything we have into roughly three-minute songs, like it might actually change something. The best part is getting to do it with my bandmates and best friends, still chasing that feeling – like a kid who just pulled off their first magic trick.”

Hailing from New York City, USA, Loose Buttons are a four-piece with the world at their feet. They’ve been playing sold out shows across the States and have now reached us across the pond. Keep an eye on them.
