A bitter, post-breakup track, Lost Cause is the latest from Saliva Birds.

Lost Cause opens with simmering and smouldering indie rock which quickly boils over into jangly guitar, lively drums and passionate vocals. There’s a striking nihilism to its lyrics that contrast nicely with the brightness of the instrumental, and the arrangement takes enough twists and turns to keep things interesting right up to its explosive finish.

It was in February 2025 that York’s own Saliva Birds debuted on our blog thanks to their personal rock track Time Is Out. This follow up shows that their impressiveness wasn’t a one off. These guys really have something going on.
