Recently signed to Fiction Records, Sunderland’s Tom A. Smith is back with a bang thanks to new single, Fashion.

“Signing to Fiction is incredible,” says Smith. “So many of my influences came through this label and I feel that connection already. It’s a real honour, and Fashion feels like the perfect way to kick off this new era.”
His latest is a swaggering moment, full of punk energy and biting commentary. The instruments interplay playfully while Smith’s charismatic vocals hold the attention, never letting up. Funky, bass-rich, and full of hedonistic storytelling, Fashion is, in my opinion, his best release yet.
This blog’s relationship with Tom A. Smith started in 2022 when we caught him playing live on Thursday night at Leeds Festival. He really does feel like the next big thing coming up through the UK indie scene and Fashion is the latest proof of his credentials.
