MOLTENO quenches our ethereal thirst as she teases EP Element 3

I simply adore the music of MOLTENO and have been sharing it to these pages since 2022.

In fact, our relationship goes back further than that. In 2018, Jane shared her single 1000 Moons, calling her a “Bat For Lashes and Bjork lovechild.”

She certainly has the same knack for etherealness that those artists do, yet I find her music distinctly different. Her debut EP Element 1 and subsequent singles have shown us the range of sounds she has to offer.

Now she’s back with Treading Water, the first single from her upcoming EP, Element 3. It’s a track that instantly washes over you through its twinkling percussive layers and ghostly vocalisations.

The emotion runs deep during a vulnerable first verse as the lyrics explore the drowning feeling of holding onto love.

As with all of MOLTENO’s music, it’s the memorable chorus that really makes it stand out. Treading Water is no exception.

Her new EP promises more water motifs as she explores the element. I can’t wait to hear it!

Based in East London, MOLTENO has previously caught the attention of BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazing Radio.

Treading Water is out now, and you can listen to it below.
