Adam + Attack by Fire is one of the most original acts I’ve shared to this blog and brings something different with each new release.
By Graeme Smith
Led by USA-based Adam Tarsitano, their latest has the rather provocative title of Vampires in Heat. It certainly brings a new angle to the increasingly popular Halloween song genre!
The composition is, of course, a sensual one. It opens intimate and acoustic, giving us plenty of Tarsitano’s purring vocals. The track then finds a ‘60s folk groove as its emotive, poetic lyrics unfold.
As an act, Adam + Attack by Fire draws a lot of inspiration the heroes of classic rock such as David Bowie, T. Rex, The Beatles, The Kinks, and Cat Stevens. It was Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground that came to mind while listening to Vampires in Heat, though, especially with the female harmonies.
With this new release, Adam + Attack by Fire prove that they can continue to surprise us. We just never know what’s going to come out from them next – experimental electronica, glam rock, folk, who knows? Guessing is half the fun, but the other half is knowing that the release will be well thought-out and have genuine emotion at its core.
Vampires in Heat is out now, and you can listen to it below.
