2025 has seen Lemon release a single every month, culminating in their most psychedelic effort of them all, Love Thing.
By Graeme Smith
Influenced by bands such as Primal Scream, Stone Roses, The Kooks, Talking Heads, Gorillaz and Happy Mondays, Lemon hail from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We’ve featured them before through an interview in 2022.
Love Thing opens with an easy swagger, combining a walking bassline with some fuzzy overtones. When the vocals come in, they are emotionally seductive, drawing us into the track’s boudoir.
Consisting of Mark Bongers on bass and vocals, Thomas Gense on keyboards, guitar, and vocals, Paul Hesen on drums and vocals, and Ralf Hesen on guitar, and vocals, Lemon made a splash with their first single, a collaboration with singer Cath Coffey of the legendary Stereo MCs.
You can keep up to date with them via their website.
Love Thing is out now, and you can listen to it below.
