The visit follows the release of a new video for their album’s title track Ad Astra featuring Graham Coxon, alongside a busy run of UK instore appearances and a full tour across the UK and Ireland.

The title track is the latest glimpse into a record that critics have praised for its energy, colour and reflective streak. Reviews have highlighted everything from the band’s revitalised power pop to their melodic heart, with songs such as Hallion, Keep Dreaming and Dehumanised showing their heavier edge while My Favourite Ghost and Which One Do You Want? offer more delicate moments. The album also includes two tracks featuring Graham Coxon, with Fun People described by the band as one of their wildest creations yet.

Drummer Rick McMurray explains that Ad Astra became the foundation for the world in which the album lives, describing it as the element that binds the whole project together. “Although this song was in many ways the final piece of this album’s puzzle, it also spawned the space in which the rest of the album lives, the dark matter that binds the Ad Astra universe together. Enjoy the ride through inner, outer and liminal space,” he says.

The band’s recent activity has been equally expansive, from SXSW appearances to UK club shows, festival sets and a packed summer that included a record-equalling eighth Glastonbury performance.

Their York date forms part of the February leg of the tour, which continues to attract strong demand, and follows a period that has seen the trio maintain a momentum rarely matched at this stage of their career. With new material, revived favourites and a reputation for high-energy shows, their return to The Crescent is set to be another highlight.

Ash will play at The Crescent on Wednesday 4 February 2026.
