There’s something in the water up the coast in Hartlepool, as Shy Bairn Records unearth another northern gem, Crescent.
By Graeme Smith
The young psych rock band have just released a new two-track collection, Milogather, which marks them out as ones to watch. The two tracks work almost as a conversation, showing us an awkwardly intimate, drawn-out introduction before letting loose in Part II which demonstrates what the band are capable of.
Crescent define themselves as the antithesis to immediacy and a slow build is what we need in our attention deficit world. I can’t recommend them enough.
Milogather Part I and II is out now, and you can listen to both tracks below.
