Discovery: Psych Rockers Crescent Rise from The Underrated Hartlepool Scene

There’s something in the water up the coast in Hartlepool, as Shy Bairn Records unearth another northern gem, Crescent

By Graeme Smith

The young psych rock band have just released a new two-track collection, Milogather, which marks them out as ones to watch. The two tracks work almost as a conversation, showing us an awkwardly intimate, drawn-out introduction before letting loose in Part II which demonstrates what the band are capable of.

Crescent define themselves as the antithesis to immediacy and a slow build is what we need in our attention deficit world. I can’t recommend them enough.

Milogather Part I and II is out now, and you can listen to both tracks below.
