ALLEY (The Band) announced themselves to us late last year through their debut single, The Release (Now It’s Over). Now it’s time to hear their second.

The band formed when guitarist Robbie Davies overheard Ali Wood drunkenly singing a Christmas song in a pub and knew he wanted her as his frontperson. That origin story injects a sense of fun and whimsy into ALLEY (The Band)’s music, and we hear that in The Release and in their latest Song For A Diva.

There is a deeper message too, though, and Song For A Diva grapples with choosing the hard road over the easy one in pursuit of a dream. A wistfulness exists in every note as it unfolds with classic rock heart.
