A long-time craftsman of modern folk, indie rock and atmospheric acoustic soundscapes, Ramsey arrives fresh from releasing Celestun, his collaborative album with My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel, a record celebrated for its rustic beauty and intricate guitar work.

Across his solo career, Ramsey has blended introspection with expansive arrangements, drawing from the mountain folk traditions of his North Carolina home. His recent work – including New Lost Ages, recorded with renowned producer Phil Ek – shows an artist continually refining his palette while embracing warm, meditative songwriting. His partnership with Broemel has only deepened that musical conversation, resulting in a set of tracks that feel both timeless and exploratory.

York audiences can expect an intimate evening of deft guitar playing, textured instrumentals and the quiet emotional pull that has defined Ramsey’s evolution as a solo artist. Whether performing delicate finger-picked pieces or more cinematic arrangements, his live shows are known for their clarity, space and emotional depth – a chance to hear the songs as they breathe. And with Celestun’s focus track Flying Things (featuring The Secret Sisters) already winning praise, this tour marks a rare opportunity to experience the album’s intricacy in a close-up setting.

Tyler Ramsey will play at Rise @ Bluebird Café, York on Saturday 4 April 2026.
