Yorkshire’s Oliver Pinder Goes Big With Dark-Hearted New Single, Such An Angel

We’ve been following the career of Wakefield’s Oliver Pinder since 2024 and have seen things go from strength to strength for him in the past couple of years.

Recent times have seen him supported by BBC 6 Music, playing sold-out shows, and some notable support slots, including sharing a stage with Youth Sector in York last autumn.

Despite this, Pinder stays grounded. Music isn’t about fame and fortune for him, but survival. When he lost his dad at age twelve, he turned to it as a coping mechanism. Pinder’s tracks have always felt confessional and hit hard as a result. His latest single, Such An Angel, is no exception.

The track sees Pinder at his rockier extreme with big, anthemic choruses, riffs, and cinematic layers. The upbeat nature of the composition hides a dark heart. Such An Angel is a tale of narcissism, manipulation, and emotional neglect. Dig deeper into its lyrics and you are left spellbound.

I know 2026 is going to be a big year for Oliver Pinder and we at York Calling will be supporting him the whole way. To keep up to date with what he’s doing, you can head to his website, and follow him on Facebook, X, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, YouTube, Instagram, Songkick, and TikTok.
