Discovery: Lynn Dossenbach’s Varied, Bilingual Debut EP Shows Us Who She Is

Swiss born, Liverpool-based, Lynn Dossenbach has caught my attention through her diverse debut EP, Combination.

By Graeme Smith

Sometimes things just add up, and Combination is one of those things. Dossenbach deploys bilingual lyrics and a variety of genres to tell us who she is with her debut EP. Across its five tracks, we get disco-infused pop, folk, and much more.

Opened by its lusty title track, we are at once introduced to Dossenbach’s uninhibited lyrics. There’s nothing shallow about what she does, and we get plenty of deep emotion too as the EP unfolds. Even when she sings in German in Anzeichen, the feelings are unmistakable.

Pressure On My Chest provides a quiet, reflective moment that contrasts the lively first two tracks nicely. The bright and defiant Hopes & Dreams sets up funky closer The Toxic One.

Named a Standout by BBC Introducing and with plenty of plaudits from the wider industry means Dossenbach is a one to watch. Combination certainly feels like a powerful step forward for her career and proves a bold and varied listen.

If you want to keep up to date with all she’s doing, you can by heading to her website, and by following her on Facebook, Spotify, Soundcloud, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

Combination is out now, and you can listen to it below.
