A relationship doesn’t always end with a bang. Sometimes it’s a slow fade, a lack of effort to keep things going. This is what producer duo Svndaypack explore in their new collab with singer DAMItotheWRLD, EMPIRES.

The track opens chilled and soulful, feeling romantic. Yet, its philosophical lyrics allude to its deeper message from the first verse. A smooth instrumental groove plays with the heart as DAMItotheWRLD laments how love is lost too easily. “Nobody’s building empires no more,” declares a powerful final chorus, hitting the track’s message home.

The producer duo of Enjahn (Enosabor Omontuemhen) and Don Ozi (Oziren Zedomi) aka Svndaypack are an international one. Formed in Lagos, Nigeria, they continue to collaborate remotely from their new homes of Chicago, USA, and Nottingham, here in the UK. Flavours of Afropop, Chicago’s famous hip-hop scene, and UK R&B all combine into something magical in EMPIRES.
