American singer-songwriter Ryann Ross may be based in Los Angeles, but the folky sound of her new single betrays her New Jersey homeland.

That’s actually a compliment though, as on new single Irish Exit, Ryann Ross truly surpasses herself. The track is a stripped-down folky affair (as one might have realised by now), but Ryann’s talent is miles above those of her peers. The main instrumentation comes from a simple acoustic guitar, although there’s also a subtle string section heard in the background at times. And of course, Ryann’s vocals are really something to behold, displaying a sense of soul often lacking in modern music. You can listen to Irish Exit here:
