Maudlin Strangers is an indie-rock project created by Los Angeles native Jake Hays in 2010, with Spaghetti Western being their York Calling debut.

I’m shocked I’ve not come across Maudlin Strangers’ music before, as Spaghetti Western really shows off some fantastic talent. As the title of the song suggests, the tune does have a definitive spaghetti western soundtrack sound, using sound effects from those films to create a pop-rock tune with a difference. Make no mistake though – this is an incredibly catchy tune and one that will have you up and dancing straight away, but it’s also really unique sounding, which is probably why I like it so much.
