The exquisitely moody and atmospheric music of Forgotten Garden has been gracing our pages since 2021. Their latest single, Rain, feels like their richest yet.

Singles, an EP, and even an interview has passed through our pages, and we always keep coming back for more.

Rain brings in touches of psychedelia, adding to the band’s already memorable melancholic dark wave sound. Think The Cure, Joy Division and The Smiths and you’re in the right ballpark.

The weightiness and emotion of the track is tempered by a certain sense of hope, even as it grapples with the topic of break-up induced depression. The narrative is that of walking away, believing one is fine, only to discover the opposite is true. It’s a track with layers, sonically and emotionally.

The core of Forgotten Garden are the Inverness-based Scottish-Portuguese duo of Danny Elliott and Inês Rebelo. While Rebelo fronts with her compelling vocals, Elliott takes care of most of the instrumentals. On Rain they are joined by Argentina’s Mel D on bass.
