The Musical Box brought And Then There Was… Phil to York Barbican on Sunday 14 June 2026, delivering a meticulously crafted return to Genesis’ late-70s era.

Renowned for their forensic attention to detail, the Canadian outfit once again blurred the line between tribute and theatre, recreating the 1978 Mirrors tour with vintage instruments, era-authentic costumes and the striking mirrored lighting that defined the original shows.

Across the set, the band channelled the moment Phil Collins stepped into the spotlight, pairing the intricate prog of A Trick of the Tail and Wind & Wuthering with the sharper songwriting that would push Genesis toward the mainstream. It made for a performance that felt less like nostalgia and more like a living, breathing snapshot of a band in transition—polished, ambitious and unmistakably iconic.
