Regular readers of the York Calling reviews section will likely have seen or heard of Estella Dawn’s music before. On the off-chance you haven’t. Japanese Boots is a pretty good place to start!

Estella’s music usually follows a pop path, although she also includes elements of multiple other genres within her tuneage, so you’re never quite sure what you’ll get (although it’s always good!) On Japanese Boots, Estella takes things down a notch – it’s still a pop song of sorts, but it’s slower than might be expected, putting most of the focus on Estella’s gorgeous vocal range and lyrical delivery. The acoustic guitar is pretty nice in this short little ditty though, fitting nicely against the drums and the rest of the instrumentation. You can give Japanese Boots a whirl below:
