Los Angeles, USA-based pop artist Stefanie Michaela has recently taken a break from music. We’ve discovered her through her return and feelgood single, Carefree.
By Graeme Smith
Michaela is a mother of five so understandably took a break to look after her children. Now back, she has a message for all of us about letting go of perfectionism.
Carefree opens lushly with a contemplative pop feel. When the vocals come in, they are strong, passionate, and full of pathos. They speak of finding a moment of calm in among the to-do lists as the instrumental ramps up to a dance-inducing chorus. From there the track moves nicely from introspective, stripped back verses to life-affirming choruses, arriving finally at an explosive, percussive climax.
“I wanted to write a song that reminds people it’s okay to let go,” says Michaela. “Life can become so heavy with responsibilities, expectations, and overthinking. Carefree is about giving yourself permission to enjoy the moment again.”
The track was written by Micheala alongside Nitanee Paris and Mark Dorflinger.
An authentic creator with a message we all need right now, Stefanie Michaela is an artist I’ll be keeping an eye on. You can too by heading to her website, and by following her on Facebook, Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
