Our coverage of Love Ghost’s music goes back to 2023, and the act is never far from our pages. His new album is called Cintas Perdidas: México.

Hailing from Los Angeles and fronted by Finnegan Bell, we’ve seen in the past how Love Ghost has embraced the Mexican music scene, and this new album feels like a celebration of it. It’s an anthology of his time immersed in it, born from demos and emerging on this record as fully realised tracks.
Bilingual and overflowing with collaborations with Latin artists, Cintas Perdidas feels like Love Ghost’s most outward-looking release to date.
That’s not to say there isn’t plenty of room for introspection, and we get plenty of Love Ghost’s brand of emo trap throughout, including opener Fragrance. It’s an accessible intro and gives us our first collaboration too through Sofia Thompson’s scintillating Spanish verse.
The collabs add points of view and texture to the record, be it fiery rap from Yung Dupe, El Burger, or RAYBEN, or diva quality from the likes of Ardis or Sofia Thompson. If the former name rings a bell, it’s because we’ve featured a team-up between her and Love Ghost before – 2024 single TWOSIDES. Their track UNDERWATER on this album is a delicate highlight.
Other contributors on the album are Jozue, Dimelow Pro, and Dani Torres.
Love Ghost takes on a few solo numbers too. Float Away is a suitably airy moment with a lofty chorus and passionate vocals. Ignore is an intimate and confessional highlight thanks to its heart wrenching story and soft emo rock groove. Insane Asylum stands out for its unhinged hip-hop vibe. TELEVISE and Should’ve Known are beautifully soul-searching tracks.
There are tracks we’ve heard before as singles (TIME TRAVEL, Runnin’ With The Wolves) but also plenty of new wonders to get our ears around. Overall, Cintas Perdidas feels like Love Ghost’s most complete work to date. It captures a period of his life, an evolution of his sound, and the modern Mexican music landscape.
I’ve previously referred to him as a “voice of a generation” and that continues to be the case. He’s one to keep an eye on.
