The modern world is a sometimes scary, sometimes exciting place and one act that are rising to meet the moment is Pivots.

An electronic duo based in Paris, France and London, the act is new to our blog thanks to their latest single, Any Means.
It’s a track that surges into life, quickly hitting an edgy groove, channelling ‘10s electronic renaissance acts like Empire of the Sun and M83. Beneath the layers is a strong lyrical message, delivered with some memorable poetry.
“Any Means is about those quiet compulsions that follow us through supermarkets, social media, relationships, and creativity itself,” explains frontman Roman Rappak. “In a world where desire is manufactured on an industrial scale and every image or sound can be copied, how much of what we do is genuinely our own choice and has ownership itself become an illusion?”
The story hits hard, especially as the arrangement builds to its climax. All the while, the instrumental urges us to move; it’s compulsive.
It’s not just their music that makes Pivots stand out. Any Means is a banger, but I was drawn in by the description of their live performance. Rather than simply putting on gigs, Pivots have been crafting an immersive performance.
Their project Everyday Places is a 20‑minute pre-show immersive installation using game-engine and virtual reality technologies. The idea is that audiences encounter the music through a digital environment before seeing it live.
“The relationship between memory and music is incredibly powerful, especially the first time you hear a song,” says Rappak. “What we’ve evolved is a way for people to form a memory around a track before they hear it live.”
The duo have been bringing the experience to grassroots venues, and its latest run is imminent. The immersive and AV sets are coming to dates in Cardiff, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Kendal, and Barrow-in-Furness between 16-25 September 2026.
“The response from grassroots venues for Pivots’ immersive concert has been incredible,” says the band’s manager Anne McKinnon. “These spaces are the backbone of music culture, where experimentation happens and future headliners are born. This tour is a first-of-its-kind collaboration, with grassroots venues once again leading the charge for the next wave of live music experiences.”
