I’ve always been a big fan of artists that do their music their own way, producing music on their own terms, instead of bowing to the pressures of fame and fortune. Australian musician Lynda Jaco is one such artist who creates her music from the ground up, as displayed on her recent EP release 3. Each of the three songs on the EP acts as its own little stand-alone vignette into Lynda’s life, which made me extremely excited to dive a little deeper with this interview. If you like what you read, don’t forget to check out Lynda’s music and social media pages too!

How has your 2026 been so far? Did you do anything nice over the summer?
My 2026 has been good so far, although it’s going very quickly. I’ve mostly been writing music, enjoying the warmth and watching the garden grow.
We recently reviewed your new EP, 3. What can you tell us about the record? How has the reception been so far?
For me, it’s meant more growth and progress, both within my songwriting and playing. The reception has been positive too.
You released the song All Over Again as a single earlier this year. Do you have any other singles planned for release soon? Do you plan to release any songs from 3 as singles?
I may release a new single in November, but I am mostly working on an album at the moment. 3 is an EP, so there are no singles.
Can you tell us more about the new album you’re writing?
Yes, I have several completed songs at the moment. If all goes well, I plan to release it in February or March.
You describe yourself as a rock recluse. Does this mean we can’t expect any tour dates from you?
Correct.
What have you been listening to recently that you can recommend? Who are your main influences as an artist?
Recently, I have been watching old YouTube videos of Dan Baird and Homemade Sin. There are too many artists to name.
You’re from Adelaide in Australia. What is the local music scene like with you?
I don’t perform live here, but there is a bit of a community scene – I also get local radio exposure.
Do you have any side projects or other bands on the go?
Not at this stage, no.
Do you have anything else exciting coming up this year or next?
More songwriting and more music releases for next year. I’d also like to make a music video.
Any last words for the fans?
Take care and enjoy life.
