Polish-British alternative artist Fiora Anicca, based near Leeds, first graced our pages in 2025 through her dark and expressive single Circles.
By Graeme Smith
At the time, I compared her sound to the likes of Beth Gibbons, Björk, and Kate Bush, all wonderfully distinctive artists. Anicca is just as distinctive, so when a new track of hers hit my radar I knew I had to share it.
Already Gone is a brooding number that opens stripped back and soulful, with a folksy undercurrent adding some organic warmth to its electronic overtones. Overlapping vocals set the early tone before Anicca’s passionate verse comes in. The lyrics are searching, speaking of a desire for connection through natural imagery. Their story of finding friendship in an unlikely place speaks of Anicca’s own experience. The composition builds nicely to its powerful, chanting climax.
A cinematic music video accompanies the release.
The new single adds to Anicca’s impressive sound. She’s not only caught my attention before but has also been supported by BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and international radio stations. She’s definitely putting the Yorkshire music scene on the map and I can’t wait to hear more from her.
If you want to keep up to date with all she’s doing, you can do so by heading to her website, and by following her on Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, and Instagram.
Already Gone is out now, and you can listen to it below.
