Hyooman are a band who I discovered earlier this year through their breezy debut single Half Brain. The Minneapolis, USA-based indie rock band are now back on the blog with their latest Kid. I find their style not too dissimilar to local breakout act Bull. If you like them, definitely check out Hyooman.

I first saw Bull live in 2015 when they played upstairs in Dusk as part of York’s Oxjam festival. At the time I was blown away by how the could fill and command a room with their performance. What a year it’s been for local alt-rockers Bull! They’ve been building a solid base of popularity here in York since 2011 and never fail to draw a crowd. Now they’ve hit the national conscience, being championed by Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6, Huw Stephens and Clara Amfo on BBC Radio 1 and have even drawn acclaim from Elton John. On Saturday, The Fulford Arms celebrated five years of delivering the best live music in York. In was in these humble surroundings that Avalanche Party returned to help the Fulford venue celebrate.
