On Saturday night, De Grey Rooms was transformed into a vampire’s lair thanks to the annual fundraiser the Black Rose Ball. Its ghoulish inhabitants gathered all in the name of the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, a charity set up after the tragic loss of its namesake, who was attacked for simply for the way she looked.Photos by Ruth Hunter
The masquerade ball followed Friday night’s concert at the Fulford Arms and was followed by a screening of ’80s film ‘The Hunger’ at City Screen on Sunday, completing the trio of vampire themed events.
Next year’s ball will take place on the 1, 2 and 3 September and will have the theme 1,001 nights, based on the infamous collection of Arabic folktales. While we all wait in anticipation, check out our photos of the ball below, and our review of the concert here.
