The latest issue of York Calling Magazine hits the digital shelves today, with some coverage of some huge local events that are fast approaching. With a diverse range of music reviews from some big, international names and local talent, it’s not to be missed!
“It was difficult pulling this issue together because I had to make some tough decisions as to what not to include,” explains Editor in Chief, Graeme Smith. “Never fear, anything dropped will be in a later issue, or on our website!”
“What did make the cut was the exciting line-up announcement for the ever worthy York’s Little Festival of Live Music, event previews for Hazel O’Connor, Reading and Leeds and SFW in the City, an interview with Leeds’ Klammer, news from the National Centre for Early Muisc and more music reviews then you can shake a rhythm stick at!”
Now in its fourth edition as a weekly mag, York Calling Magazine is going from strength to strength and the reception so far has been encouraging.
“It often feels with York Calling that we’re in a bit of a vacuum when we’re putting out online only content,” Graeme continues. “When I do get out to shows, like with Native City the other day, and chat to people it always feels more like we’re doing something with York Calling, if you know what I mean?
“I guess that’s why we’ve gone “old school” with a print mag, though it’s very rarely seen in print. I’d love to print loads of these mags and give them away from free if I knew the demand was there!”
As ever, the new mag and all previous issues can be found via our Magazine page.
