Rapture is the new track from our current favourite experimental artist Tony Njoku and it’s safe to say it is pushing musical boundaries.
By Graeme Smith
If you’ve listened to previous Tony Njoku tracks we’ve shared, Hapless and Through This Darkness, you’ll know his music is not for the casual listener. That goes double for his new one. Rapture kicks off with a cacophony of sounds underpinned by a steady beat. Tony’s unmistakable falsetto voice joins the mix and, to be honest, you’re not sure what to think at this point.
Things only get weirder before the main melody kicks in and Rapture becomes compulsive listening. There are hints here of Thom Yorke, Bjork and David Bowie but Tony Njoku has a unique voice and sound of his own and that’s why we can’t get enough of his music. Check out Rapture below.
