SYML is a singer-songwriter hailing from Seattle, USA whose slow-burning new track Symmetry has really caught our ear.
By Graeme Smith
Symmetry starts simply enough, with a driving, repetitive acoustic guitar riff and melancholy vocals but the true joy of the track reveals itself slowly as more and more instruments join in, from strings, to percussion to horns. Before you know it, the track has swallowed you whole.
Brian Fennel, the man behind SYML, was inspired by black holes to write Symmetry and it shows with the tracks astronomical scale. Check it out below (turning up the headphones is highly recommended!)
