S Vestergaard is a Danish experimental artist whose instrumental new track 1971 combines hippie vibes with sci-fi overtones to create something magical.
By Graeme Smith
The track title 1971 refers to the point in time when the swinging ’60s gave way to the modern computing era – the year when the microchip was invented. Sonically, S Vestergaard captures this perfectly, and the juxtaposition of groovy bass and twinkling keys feel quite provocative. It’s a vibe you grow into though and you’re left with the feeling that you’re listening to something quite unique.
S Vestergaard is already a platinum selling producer but his solo project only started this year. I, for one, am looking forward to hearing more of his stuff. Check out 1971 below.
