Kalmo are a Canadian downtempo neo-classical act which originally started as a solo project of Mexican producer and guitarist Bernardo Alvarado Rojas. Bernardo’s heritage is evident in their new track Dancing Light.

Dancing Light is a meditative piece – minimal, melodic and mesmerising. At times it feels as if it exists on another plane of reality, but there is a touchstone of the cultural and traditional to it. The echoing guitar feels lifted from a Western and elevated into something futuristic.

Kalmo is the product of when artists from a diverse range of backgrounds come together to fuse their influences into something new and there’s no better way to create something that stands out in an often saturated musical world. I’m excited by Kalmo’s creation and I hope you are too.
