Carrelle is an American singer songwriter who retreated to a remote cabin in northern Wisconsin to record her new song Channel Surfer.
By Graeme Smith
As you’d expect from the recording process, it’s a quiet and intimate piece with a raw, acoustic edge. Carrellee’s vocals are suitably dreamy and the result is something of a lullaby. The lyrics focus on the feeling of isolation that come from only interacting via screens.
As the track draws to its conclusion, piano and horns enter the mix and make the track feel positively rich compared to the intimacy of the first couple of minutes. It’s a well-introduced bit of texture that really brings Channel Surfer to life.
