Nottingham singer songwriter Chloe Rodgers seems to have a penchant for Greek mythology. One of her previous singles that we covered was called A Delphian Lullaby, a reference to the Greek city of Delphi. Her latest is The Algea, named for a group of Greek goddesses.

Though the references are ancient the stories are contemporary. The Algea is about the challenges of navigating the sexual world as a teenage girl, the biggest of which being predatory older men. She delivers the tale with her characteristic image-laden lyrics and delicate vocals. The instrumentals are layered and soaring and the chorus stick with you.
It’s another superb track from an artist who is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Check out The Algea below.
