Paper & Stone is the new video from London indie rock band Superbloom. It’s their first single of the year following a stuttering start as a band caused by the onset of a global pandemic.

The first thing that grabbed me about Paper & Stone was the duo’s way with words. It was a bit like looking at the world through a warped mirror. Their descriptions of life were familiar but put in such a way that highlighted the absurdity of society. The introspective first verse gives way to a lively, riff-laden chorus which lovers of classic rock will appreciate but it’s the lyricism that will linger long after the last chord has been played.
This is Superbloom’s third single following a launch back in March last year, just before the first lockdown. It’s great to see that the adversity hasn’t stopped them releasing more music. I’m looking forward to hearing more from them.
