Inland Murmur are a dream pop duo from Cardiff whose new track Waterline takes inspiration from the rural Welsh landscapes in which they grew up.
By Graeme Smith
Waterline has a dreamy, ’80s rock feel to it. The guitar riffs are moody and relentless, echoing and expanding like the landscapes that inspired them. Lead vocals come from Hannah, delicate and haunting. Bandmate Toby provide harmonies and the occasional spoken word line which adds an interesting texture to proceeding. At its heart, though, Waterline is a lovely piece of indie rock that sits somewhere on the spectrum between The Cure and Idlewild.
