Lindsay Wright is an experimental composer who is new to me but her music has featured in some major TV dramas including Netflix’s The Crown, Sky Atlantic’s The Tunnel and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.

Her new piece is called Exile and it’s neoclassical with a twist. A looping piano melody introduces the piece but all the while there is a barely perceptible undercurrent of crackles, distorted notes and glitches. As the piece develops it becomes clear they haven’t been left in by accident – they are integral to the arrangement and create an atmosphere of some desolate future world. The twist is that the world is ours and the future is now.
Lindsay’s new EP Lines is set to be released 4 June. Check out Exile below.
