Yammerer are a Liverpool-based alternative rock act whose raucous post-punk track Tell Me What The Ancient Astronaut Theorists Believe caught my ear.

The track is characterised by clashing guitar riffs and shouted vocals that all come together to create something greater than its parts. It shouldn’t work but it does and what sets it apart is its poetic lyrics – steeped in paranoia and anti-capitalism.

It’s the first track from their upcoming debut album, an album that promises to be an unexpected collection of styles given the band’s penchant for reinvention and fluidity. I’m looking forward to hearing it and I hope you are too.
