Jim Kimo West is a Grammy-award winning guitarist who has teamed up with LA-based multi-instrumentalist Joss Jaffe for their meditative new track Blossom, released on Be Why Music.

Drawing on instrumentals from India, Hawaii and Africa, Blossom certainly has a culturally-diverse feel to it. The instrumental piece is textured and jazzy and showcases the incredible playing of both men. I particularly love the subtle but powerful percussion that provides a depth to the whole piece.
Both Jim and Jeff have had successful careers in the US. Fans of “Weird” Al Jankovic might even recognise Jim’s name – he was Al’s guitarist for over 40 years.

You can hear the wonderfully expressive Blossom below.
