Cherry Blaster is a bedroom pop artist from Toronto, Canada. Her new lowkey track and video is an exercise in pink surrealism. It’s called New Age.
By Graeme Smith
New Age is about getting older gracefully. The transition from your twenties to thirties can be a difficult one and it can be tricky to accept the new you. This is exactly what Cherry grapples with through the poetry of the track’s lyrics. Perhaps more ear-catching though is the song’s unusual staccato and sci-fi electronic soundscape and Cherry’s soft, pleasant vocals.
The video sees Cherry in a sparse, pink wonderland with the pastel colour acting as a representation of youth. You can check it out below.
