Gifts From Crows, the recording name of neoclassical composer Richard Laurence, is a familiar name on our blog. I first discovered his music last autumn and have been keenly sharing his releases ever since. His latest is the second track taken from his new project Stories In Slow Light. It’s called Childhood (Dance of Unknowing).

As you can guess from its title, Childhood attempts to sonically capture the wonder of youth. It’s a suitably playful composition, consisting of a looping piano melody accompanied by strings courtesy of the Northern Film Orchestra. The playfulness is reflected by the track’s video. It features stock footage of young people enjoying the rides of New York’s Coney Island in the 1950s. You can see it below.
