Discovery: Sapphire Blues

Based in Bristol, Sapphire Blues are an alternative rock band who explore the idea of wanting more but not being sure what through a tribute to their local pub. Both the pub and the track is called Church of England.

Through frenetic and jangly punk rock, Sapphire Blues paint a picture of hope and desperation. Of particular note is frontman Sam Lance’s pleading, characterful vocals. We as listener is drawn into their world, and get to share in their aspirations, frustrations, triumphs and failures.

Already on the radar of BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Fred Perry Subculture and a range of influencers in the blogosphere, Sapphire Blues may well be the next big thing in British alternative rock.
