Jamie Rhodes is a British singer songwriter who I first discovered near the end of last year and instantly fell in love with his melancholic and poetic style. His latest track applies piano and mournful strings to his particular brand of storytelling. It’s called Times Disavowed.
By Graeme Smith
Jamie often speaks of life’s undercurrents in his music, painting pictures of things and people forgotten and Times Disavowed is no exception. Its meaning is not immediately apparent, but the mood is left in no doubt. It feels like the biography of the lost, infused with a mix of anger and hope.
The track is taken from Jamie’s recently released album The Mighty Mighty Something which is available in all the usual places. You can hear Times Disavowed below.
