Streetlight Eyes, real name Andrew Bailey, is an indie pop singer songwriter from Minneapolis, USA. Drawing on his own “blood, sweat and tears,” as he puts it, he creates dreamy, emotive bedroom pop. His latest track is called I’m Having Problems Getting Dressed.

The track is about unrequited love, and Andrew really brings the feeling to life through his emotional vocal harmonies, accompanied by his childhood friend and roommate Evelyn Staats, and storytelling lyrics. Its ethereal opening develops into an electronic groove that wouldn’t be out of place in the ’80s new romantic moment, were it not for its modern edge.
The last few years have been hard on Andrew, losing his sister and his father, and struggling with drug addiction. It was falling in love with a stranger, the topic of this song, that reignited his passion for music. I think we’re all the better for it.
