I recently featured the song Stubborn Mule by Dr Mann in a round up review of songs with country elements to them. I loved the track and wanted to find out more – check out the interview below if you liked the track!

You recently released a track titled Stubborn Mule, which we reviewed. What can you tell us about the album and where can it be purchased?

The track Stubborn Mule is my debut single and it is taken from the forthcoming debut EP, which will be out sometime before June

Has the pandemic hindered your work much?

It has hindered us in the way of playing live shows. We have had gigs cancelled or rescheduled a few times. As for writing, it allowed for more time to actually write songs and experiment.

What is the writing and recording process like for you?

The writing process just happens for me. I don’t sit down and try to write a song until I’m feeling super creative, at that stage I have lots of music in me which then flows out with ease.

Do you plan to release any more singles at any point in the near future?

Yes, the next single Spinning In Circles will be out in April, with another in May and June followed by the EP.

Have you got any plans to release a full-length album or an EP anytime soon?

Yes definitely, the EP will be followed by a live recording and a film from in the studio of the EP. We plan to then release it on vinyl and cassette as a Side A, which will be the EP. Side B will be the live version.

What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

That’s a tough one as my taste is very wide and varied. I have a love for old school West Coast country like Gene Clark, MEarle, Waylon & New Riders Of The Purple Sage, but I love everything from Pavement, The Lemonheads, Courtney Barnet, Khruangbin, Pond, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Stone Roses, Oasis, Big Thief, Mac Demarco, Cigarettes After Sex, Beach House, Daywave, Jimmy Buffet, John Andrews And The Yawns, Tobacco City, Rose City Band and so many more.

You’re based in Australia. What is the music scene like in your part of the world?

Thriving and full of life!

Do you have any tour dates lined up?

Yes, we have a run of shows coming up in our home state of Queensland.

What can people expect from one of your shows and why should people come and see you perform live?

We have fun and play fun, we play a set which is indie, country, psychedelic pop cosmic. Quite a trip!
