Jesse Brady is a Nashville, USA-based pop singer songwriter who I’ve featured a couple of times before on the blog. Always impressed by her song writing and the strong sense of emotion she conveys in her music, I was keen to give her latest a listen. It’s called Conflicted.
By Graeme Smith
Conflicted has a fresh and quirky feel to it. There’s a lovely sense of texture in the instrumentals, reflecting the uncertain feel of the song’s story. Speaking of how your brain and your heart don’t always agree, it’s beautifully relatable.
Jesse’s influences range from country pop like HAIM and Houndmouth, to classic folk and rock like Joni Mitchell, Blondie and Radiohead. It goes some way to explain just how undefinable her sound is. She’s out here making something really unique. I can’t wait to hear more from her.
