Justin Larkin is an American folk and acoustic singer songwriter whose new country blues track No Gravestone caught my attention.
By Graeme Smith
No Gravestone explores the idea of what happens when you die. In it, Justin rejects the idea of being buried in a cemetery in favour of being reincarnated as a tree. It’s a wonderful story, told through meticulous detail and with passionate vocals. As the track progresses, the energy ramps up, leading to a barnstorming finish.
The track is taken from Justin’s forthcoming album Nowhere Is A Place. Technically a solo debut, it’s an album that’s been ten years in the making and features contributions from members of The Hillbenders, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, The Domino Kings, The Paper Moons and Justin’s own band Mood Ring Circus. The album is out on 25 March and you can listen to No Gravestone below.
