Pennan Brae is a classic rock singer songwriter from Vancouver, Canada who we’ve been following on the blog since last autumn. His unique brand of rock and roll never fails to impress, as is the case with his latest. It’s called Zulu.

Starting with a juddering electric guitar riff, it revs up into a high octane arrangement. Pennan delivers the lyrics in his characteristic, almost-whispered style, full of imagery and poetry that somehow feels both opaque and relatable at the same time. There really isn’t anyone else out there doing what he does.
