Video: Madison Beer – Showed Me

What a year it’s been for Madison Beer. Off the back of 2021’s debut album Life Support, she’s been riding high, and this summer accumulated in an emotional and triumphant first-time appearance at Reading and Leeds Festival (yours truly was in the crowd at Leeds). The year’s not over yet, though, and she’s just released her latest single and video, Showed Me (How I Fell In Love With You.)

Album Review: Will Wood – “In case I make it,”

If you’ve been following the blog recently, you’ll have seen American singer songwriter Will Wood’s name pop up a few times. Back in May, I discovered him through the wonderful single Cicada Days. He followed it with the experimental You Liked This (Okay, Computer!), then the triumphantly nihilistic White Noise. All three tracks feature on his new album “In case I make it,”. I simply had to give it a listen.

Album Review: Pennan Brae – Planted

Pennan Brae is a Vancouver, Canada-based indie rock artist who has caught my attention this year through his undefinable style. Previous single releases like Mona and Night Crawling have drawn on influences like classic rock and roll and alternative country but don’t fit nicely into any genre. As such, I was keen to find out what his 10th album Planted would have in store.
